Connecting to Our Communities
The WestRock Foundation connects our communities to economic and environmental sustainability. We make strategic investments to conserve forests and build the manufacturing workforce of the future.
Preparing for the Future
We are committed to building a workforce skilled in modern manufacturing. By investing in programs such as The Manufacturing Institute’s Heroes MAKE America, STEP and FAME, or 3DE by Junior Achievement, we aim to increase the awareness of jobs and hone the skills required for a successful career in modern manufacturing.
Investing to Conserve
Our focus on environmental sustainability centers around water, tree and wildlife conservation projects in communities where WestRock operates. Through partnerships with The Nature Conservancy and Trust for the Public Land, we are investing in the revitalization of longleaf pine in the southeast United States and protecting headwaters around the Hood Canal in Tacoma. And because conservation requires partnership, we invest in the work of the American Forest Foundation and The Center for Heirs’ Property Preservation to provide resources and education that helps family landowners manage their land more sustainably.
Healthy tree canopies also play an important role in our communities, providing essential shade, stormwater management and air filtration. That’s why we partner with organizations such as Chicago Trees Initiative, Trees Atlanta and Trees Forever in Cedar Rapids. Not only does the WestRock Foundation invest in their work, we encourage our WestRock teammates to roll up their sleeves to help plant trees and maintain our urban greenspaces.

Employee Community Programs
Our people are what make WestRock special, and we are deeply committed to building not only a company, but also a community that connects us to each other – and to a purpose beyond our business. Our team members share a voice in how we give through their participation in our matching gifts and employee volunteer programs. Together, we make a positive impact on the communities we are proud to call home.
Engaging in our Communities
Through Grants for Volunteers, we support team member engagement in the community by providing grants for individual volunteer service. From coaching youth sports to volunteering with a local school or an emergency services crew, our team members are committed to giving back to our communities.
Our Teamwork Matters program encourages teams of WestRock employees to volunteer for group service projects. Our teambuilding volunteer projects have supported food banks, river clean ups and tree plantings in our communities.
Our Matching Gifts Program recognizes the financial commitments our team members make to organizations championing causes they care about. By matching their personal donations to nonprofit organizations at 50% up to $2,500 per employee, our team members help us invest in organizations that make our communities safe, diverse and vibrant.
*Our employee community programs are currently available to team members based in the U.S.
